Ms. Rajya Laxmi Nakarmi
Chairperson
Ms Rajya Laxmi Nakarmi is a former ECD section Chief at the Department of Education, Ministry of Education, Nepal. She served for 38 years in the education sector in different capacities including school teacher, assistant lecturer in Tribhuvan University, health and physical education specialist, school curriculum specialist, and chief/district education office. Besides, she also worked in NGOs in different fields such as disability, inclusive education, child rights, women’s rights and empowerment, and parental education. She joined the Seto Gurans NCDS in 2013 and since then she held the position of Treasurer until November 19, 2021. Then, she was elected chairperson of the organization on November 20, 2021.

Ms Agatha Pakhrin Thapa, — a pioneer for the ECD program, who started her early childhood development career teaching children so called untouchable from slum community — is the founder of the organization. She was in the post of Executive Director since 1979 to 2009; and has held position of Vice-chairperson since 2017.
