Capacitating teachers

Capacitating teachers: A total of 253 Head Teachers (HT) including members of School Management Committee (SMC), Parents Teachers Association (PTA) from 232 schools of 7 Local Governments have been capacitated through one-day workshop under the UNICEF Nepal-supported project “Strengthening Early Childhood Education and Development in Nepal through Implementation of Early Learning Development Standards” implemented by the Seto Gurans NCDS: सेतो गुराँस राष्ट्रिय बाल विकास सेवा with close coordination with the Government of Nepal, Center For Education And Human Resources Development and respective project are Local Governments.

During the one-day workshop, it was discussed and oriented in following aspects:

• The roles of SMC/PTA and HTs for effective implementation of the ELDS project.

• Review of SMC/PTA and HTs support to the ECED center, grade 1 teachers for well management of six learning areas, child-friendly seating arrangement, classroom activities, support for effective implementation of ELDS report card.

• Mobilization of parents and regular meeting with them (parents).

• Develop an action plan for effective implementation of the positive practices and results made by the project.

#Last year, about 268 head-teachers including members of SMC, PTA from the same 7 Local Governments were capacitated through the 2-day training.
