Promoting ECD in Karnali Province!
Consultation Program on the Constitutional Right and Responsibilities for the Early Childhood Development (ECD) in federal context of Nepal — was held on 24-November-2019 in Surkhet, Karnali Province. Hon Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mr Mahendra Bahadur Shahi honored the program as the chief guest whereas Hon Ms Sita Nepali, Member of Province Assembly and Karnali Province ECD Caucus Coordinator, had chaired the event in presence of Hon Satya Pahadi, Member of House Representative, Federal Parliament of Nepal, & Federal ECD Caucus Coordinator.
Hon Pahadi shared the booklet Promoting Early Childhood Development in Nepal (नेपालमा प्रारम्भिक बालविकास प्रवर्धन पूस्तिका). Meanwhile, Ms Deepa Hamal, Under Secretary at Education Development Directorate (Surkhet) had shared the status of ECD in Karnali Province. ECD expert Dr Meenakshi Dahal had shared the importance of ECD with the different aspects along with research findings linking the best practices of ECD in international level.
The ECD promotional program concluded with significant commitments by Hon Chief Minister Shahi. He promised to do the model program in ECD and would request for its support for joint collaboration with concerned stakeholders. Representatives from Save the Children International, Unicef Nepal, Seto Gurans NCDS along with Experts and Media persons were present in the ECD promotional program — which was organized by Federal ECD Caucus in coordination with Provincial Government (Karnali Province) supported by Save the Children International and technical support from Seto Gurans National Child Development Services.
