TOT on Child Psychology and Behavioral Management

3-Day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Child Psychology and Behavioral Management concluded here at Seto Gurans National Child Development Services, Lalitpur on 23 Feb 2021. A total of 10 participants took part in the training, which was organized by Seto Gurans National Child Development Services with support from Childaid Network, Germany and was facilitated by Dr Narendra Thagunna, Founder, PSYCHDESK FOUNDATION. The training had featured following major contents:

Day-1

• Introduction of Psychology

• Behavioral Change According to Age

• Psychosocial Problems

• Psychosocial Wellbeing/ Psychosocial Support Activities to Children

• Counseling and Characteristics of Counselors/ Support workers

• Model of Psychosocial Support

• Common Mental Health Problems related to Child Psychology

Day-2

• Stigma and Discrimination (introduction, examples, perspective in various countries) and Ways of Stigma Reduction

• Child and Adolescents Mental Health Problems

• Conversion Disorder

• Suicide Assessment and Referral /Case Discussion

• Emotion Card/Energizer

Day- 3

• Stress and Its Management

• Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

• Substance Abuse

• Basic Communication/Counseling Skills

• Verbal and Non-verbal Skills Building Positive Mental Health

• Self-Care Techniques

Furthermore, "Pictorial Booklet on Child Psychology and Behavioral Development" (बाल मनोविज्ञान तथा व्यवहार विकास सम्बन्धी चित्रात्मक सहयोगी पुस्तिका — published by Seto Gurans NCDS — was used as the reference materials in the training.

After taking part in the TOT training, the participants will do micro-session in Ramechhap district. In addition, they will provide 2-day training on Child Psychology and Behavioral Management to 20 school teachers including SMC/PTA members in the same district.
